After Careful Consideration…

Author samram | 24.07.2008 | Category SEO

…I may have discovered my secret to good rankings.  I’m not sure yet, but I’m treating my recently finished content for an MLM client as a bit of an experiment.

I’ll see how it ranks after a week or two and decide if this is working, but basically I’m focusing each of my paragraphs around one or two keywords instead of a whole string of keywords.  This keeps my density intact while keeping each paragraph coherent.

Let’s see what happens…

Squidoo

What an awesome name for a program. I can’t stop saying it in different accents. Oh joy!

I had my first flirt with squidoo today. It was pretty cool, grabbed rss feeds from my blog, and was very simple to use. They also have this program for frequent users, you get this giant star next to your name. And, since we are not making new accounts each time, I will be able to submit all of my website to squidoo! So I too can become a big cheese. The first site I made was pretty cool, it is a website showing you how to get rich quickly! You can see my squidoo lens here! Check it out, it is very cool looking!

New Procedure

That’s right, further link building, but where is this new bit of link building going to take place? Why on Squidoo this time! With one account you can build several lenses and further link build with the site they let you make. The more links that come in with relevance, the better the site will come out in the end. The first one I did with Squidoo is none other than an MLM promoting the reverse funnel system. Since it’s new, the results of it are yet to be seen, but when more are done, the easier it will be.

Getting those inbound links

Author Jeffh | 18.07.2008 | Category SEO

We have started working on getting more inbound links to our websites. This involves posting on yahoo, and will probably involve posting on various boards across the internet. Of course these posts must be relevent, which makes it a tad boring. But over all answering dumb peoples questions on the internet through Yahoo answers is fun. I just wish I could bash on people a tad more. I guess I am a screwed up person deep down.

I did quite a few yahoo answers for this unique mlm opportunity website. They involved everything from “why is my business failing”, to a thirteen year old asking if he is bipolor. This is a screwed up world people, and I am having a hard time getting used to it.

We are getting great results and it has been because of a total team effort. From the initial keyword approval, to content writing, design and search engine submittal, all the way to the final approval and reworks. I think the biggest key is as a team we have great flexibility, to  see something isn’t working and change with the SEO times as well as adding and improving what is working. The client really has a team dedicated to getting him/her the results that are promised and then some.

Blast From The Past

Author Saishu Hane | 11.07.2008 | Category SEO

With the rank checking and content writing I’ve been doing lately, I’ve only really paid attention to the one that was doing very well on a former account. A particular URL for how to rank on the first page wasn’t doing as well as one of its predecessors. A quick add to StumbleUpon and an add into del.icio.us, and a bit of promotion should help it along just fine. Lately content writing has come down really well in terms of moderation and execution, but the process is quite lengthy. Adding a lot of time where we used to be able to work on design. While design is still being covered, the work with content is of the utmost importance. Just wish it wasn’t so very long.

Mirroring Websites

Author Jeffh | 08.07.2008 | Category SEO

The best thing happened to us this week. We were told to start mirroring our clients websites. At first I was taken back. Consudering the fact that you can hardly call some of our clients websites sub-par. A much worse word would be needed to give the full description of some of these websites. They make me cringe just looking at the lack of css and the potential for causing sever cases of “color blindness”.

Even though I started on this off foot, I soon found that it was more interesting try to mirror their websites than make my own. Sure, making my own websites was quicker, but when attempting to mirror their websites I find that I will have many obsticals in my way, and I will have to hurdle over them or dodge to the side or slide underneath. This has been a fun week, and I hope to enjoy more mirroring websites next week.

This is a great example of what I was talking about above. It is; however, an excellent insurance company and the design took alot of thought. I ended up making unique ID’s for each link and replaced the links with images in the CSS.

Content Writing Technique

Author Jeffh | 08.07.2008 | Category SEO

I have found a great method for writing content. Everyone has their own particular way; Darrell, for example, will simply load the key words onto his page and pull them up when needed. I normally have a notepad aligned on the right side of the page. I start from the top of the list and go down, writing sentences that are based around each word as I go down. Then, when I am done. I will re-read the content and fix the many gramatical errors are made. This seems to be the fastest way for me to write content. Also, it is important to added non-keyword enriched content somewhere between the keyword enriched sentances. This addes more volume to the content, and helps to un-jumble the content.

An example of a site with great content can be found here.

Limitations

Author kimberlyh | 02.07.2008 | Category Designs

There are times when I feel absolutely frustrated and scared at the same time.  I worry about having limitations.  Whether it is my math skills or my creation skills, I worry about that brick wall.

I always try to stretch myself a little bit more when I do a graphic/design.  I try to go that extra step - research what’s ‘hot’, look at tutorials to try new things, etcetera.  And yet, there are times when I feel absolutely behind.  I feel that anyone could have done that better, and that perhaps my skills are taking a turn for the worse - or just not improving.

When this happens, it is good to take a moment and clear your mind.  I try to tell myself that there’s still plenty of time to improve, as long as I continue to put in a conscious effort to DO it.  Sometimes it’s a matter of giving yourself your own psychological coaching, I suppose.
