Re-exporting

Thursday, May 15th, 2008

While working on a site to earn $5000 per month, I had a problem with one of the images showing up. After going through all the code over and over again, I was given the fix that the coding of the JPG I was using was apparently poorly constructed. I’m not entirely sure how that happens, but it apparently did and just re-exporting the image from Photoshop and it was working correctly again. When you have troubles with a certain image on a browser, just try re-exporting and re-uploading before you get too deep into the code.

Long MLM Content, how to improve ranks

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

There are a lot of MLM clients who have in the beginning achieved high ranks only after a few reports started to slip…now adding too already sufficient content may actually hurt ranks even more….instead try either bolding keywords if they are not already or find reviews “good reviews” or other original sites of the company the MLM represents, i.e. Passport to Wealth, Roadmap2Riches etc…..

Look at clients like Campaign for Wealth I will have the changes implemented in less than 24 hours….

Going to work mostly on linking of keywords to new links, this should and is a new thinking of SEO

A War of Words.

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Hmm…what to type…what to type…

Ever feel like that?  You have no idea what to write and, when you do eventually figure out a topic, how to write about it.  Particularly when it comes to SEO, where your livelihood depends on your exceptional linguistic craftsmanship with the English vocabulary.

In other words, your wording.

This brings up a point:  Keep it simple.  The worst thing you can do to a client and their potential customers.  Confound the heck out of them to the point where thay haven’t the foggiest idea what it is your client does.

Choose your words carefully.  Stay simple.  You can still stay creative without the large, flowery wording.  Besides, you may have SEO work for a global client who–guess what–may have customers that aren’t native English speakers.  And that craves wary walking.

CSS Stuff

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Since we don’t have CSS constants yet, we need to figure out some way to get a quick reference of “variables” we are using. In web development colors and typography can often be considered as “constants” — fixed values that are used throughout the code multiple times.  You can describe color codes used in your layout. For a given color, you can display sections of your site which are using this color. Or vice versa — for a given design element you can describe the colors which are used there.

Just some tips

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Name your pages and graphics in a way in which it will be easy to find them later. When you have groups of pages or graphics that are similar, give them similar names. For instance, if you have a group of pages with stories about your son, start the name of each file with “son”. The file names could be: sonpark, sonschool.

Use of a thumbnail is an option in place of a text link to your graphic page. A thumbnail is a smaller version of your graphic. You can create one with most graphic programs by just making the graphic smaller or using the “thumbnail” option, if the program has one.

Keep text narrow. It is easier to read text that is kept in narrow columns. Did you ever wonder why newspapers keep their columns so narrow? It’s to make it easier to read. It’s even more important on the Internet because your readers are reading on their computer screen. If they can’t read everything, without scrolling sideways, then they probably won’t read it at all.

Food Scare.

Monday, May 12th, 2008

You probably read that title expecting some sort of salmonella scare.  No.  SEO, maybe, but no salmonella.

No, it’s just me getting scared of the food I eat (sometimes) after researching information for a certain large fast food chain that I’m writing content for.

After all the research I did, I’m now afraid of what I’m eating.  Heck, the things I thought would be healthier are actually worse for me!

Wow…well, at least my content will boost the client’s reliability and sense of responsibility.

Flow

Monday, May 12th, 2008

The way to make the complex feel painless is to design with flow in mind. By designing a site that is fluid and intuitive and inspires flow, you help new users get up-to-speed more quickly, reduce the chance that existing users leave your site to switch to another and create users that evangelize your site to other people. That results in more users, increased activity, and greater awareness of your site.

Smarter gradient backgrounds

Monday, May 12th, 2008

CSS gives you a lot of control and flexibility over the tiling of background images. And the great thing is that tiled images are not limited to the Body background but can also be applied to any DIV, block level or inline element.

Images that tile conventionally or just along the x or y axis can be set to scroll with the page or remain fixed while the rest of the page scrolls over it. Backgrounds can also be offset. This means that it’s easy to create a vertically graduated background that never repeats no matter how long the page is, using graphics that are only a few kilobytes in size.

Using the following code, the background.png file need only be as tall as the gradient and one pixel wide. This example assumes that the gradient fades into white, but the backgroundcolor attribute could be any value.

body { background-color: white; background-image: url(background.png); background-repeat: repeat-x; }

Resubmission

Monday, May 12th, 2008

Recently working on a URL for the benefits of mangosteen that had gone through search engine submission a long time ago, it was about time for it to be resubmitted. Leaving the URL out in the open and unsubmitted is of course a huge blow onto your SEO efforts if well…the search engines don’t even have you on the list of URL’s to search through. Don’t submit too often though, because doing so will actually hurt you in your efforts.

A Woohoo Moment.

Friday, May 9th, 2008

Wow…when you start losing it on SEO content, it shows.  You sit around for hours on end trying to figure out what to do or where to go with your writing.

But you get those moments of brilliance through it all, and it suddenly dawns on you what you need to do to get the content just right.

Such was the case with content I was writing today for an insurance firm.  After staring at the screen forever, trying to figure out where my content needs to go next, I found the trick that made it all come together beautifully.  It was a matter of knowing how to combine keywords effectively.  Once the lightbulb hit and that realization dawned on me, it was too easy.
