Developers and You
If you are on the side of things where you work on the design and content, then you have to hope you have developers that have knowhow on what they’re doing. Using the updates to a system worked on by the developers here, i was able to improve the system behind a placement option site that added a lot more content pages. Taking bits and making the home page even stronger is still done by me manually, but the amount of pages added is a nice addition.
When upgrading from one system to another, make sure you keep close contact with the developers since it’s them who have full knowledge of the countless little files in the site you just put design work into. Losing touch with them in the upgrade process may very well leave you confused and with a broken site.
